What is CCNSG Safety Passport?

The 3 month grace period currently allowed after the expiry date of a CCNSG card will come to an end from 1st April 2022.

Therefore from the 1st April 2022 delegates will be required to attend a Renewal Course BEFORE their safety passport expires.

Background to the Scheme

CCNSG (Client/Contractor National Safety Group), is a consortium of Clients & Contractors from the Petrol Chemical, Steel & Power and Gas & Oil industries along with Trade Unions, the ECITB and Training Providers.

The ECITB has operational responsibility for the formal management of the Safety Passport scheme whilst the committee’s focus is related to the ongoing determination of the scheme’s content, standards for approval of Training Providers, future development of the scheme and integrity assurance.

CCNSG SAFETY PASSPORT INITIAL COURSE

Duration: 2 days

Course Overview
This is a two-day course aimed at all personnel wishing to work on engineering construction sites and covers: Safe behaviour at work. Safe place of work. Confined space entry. Excavations. Permit to work systems. Safe use of access equipment & working at height. Site transport. Protecting the environment. Safe lifting and manual handling. Safe systems of work. Asbestos. Hazardous substances. LOLER. PUWER. Electricity Isolation. Hand-Arm Vibration. Noise.

Assessment Methods
Four sessions of classroom-based tuition with multiple choice question papers at the end of each session.

Pre training requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Candidates who successfully complete the course receive a temporary safety passport valid for six weeks, the ECITB will send out the full card which is valid for three years.

Courses are held every Thursday & Friday throughout the year, courses can also be delivered at a Clients own premises subject to suitability & numbers.

CCNSG SAFETY PASSPORT RENEWAL COURSE

Duration: 1 day

Course Overview
The CCNSG Renewal Course is a one day refresher course for those who have already passed the CCNSG National Course. This has to be taken prior to the current expiry date of the CCNSG card (up to 6 months prior).

Assessment Methods
Three sessions of classroom-based tuition with multiple choice question papers at the end of each session.

Pre training requirements
Delegates must be in possession of a CCNSG Safety Passport, which must still be in date (valid) at the time of renewing. Delegates can attend a refresher course up to 6 months prior to their current expiry, but retain the original expiry date (plus 3 years).

CCNSG SAFETY PASSPORT LATS COURSE (Leading a Team Safely)

Duration: 1 day

Course Overview
CCNSG Leading a Team Safely is a one day workshop designed to provide an introduction to managing health and safety within small teams. You must hold a valid CCNSG Safety Passport to attend the LATS course.

The workshop covers:

  • How to communicate successfully
  • How to lead a team successfully
  • How to achieve safe outcomes
  • Self-management
  • How to work safely with others

Assessment Methods
Four sessions of classroom-based tuition with a multiple choice question paper at the end of session four.

Pre training requirements
You must hold a valid CCNSG Safety Passport to attend the LATS course.

Candidates who successfully complete the course receive a LATS safety passport directly from the ECITB valid for three years.

Courses are held approximately every six weeks throughout the year, courses can also be delivered at a Clients own premises subject to suitability & numbers.

Training Location
We deliver the course at both of our offices, Barry & Baglan, Port Talbot. We are also licensed to deliver the training at customers’ sites & have travelled around the United Kingdom & Europe to deliver this training.
