Driver CPC
What is Driver CPC?
The Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC) is intended to help improve road safety & maintain high standards.
Driver CPC is 35 hours of periodic training completed every 5 years cycle, the training is split into 7 hour sessions.
It was introduced in 2008 for PCV and in 2009 for LGV. Drivers must complete 35 hours of Driver CPC Periodic Training every 5 years.
We offer dedicated Driver CPC courses, and we also offer Driver CPC hours through Emergency First Aid, ADR and Manual Handling.
Who should attend?
Any driver operating a vehicle over 3.5 tones or a bus with 9 or more seats on a professional basis (hire or reward).
I have both Licenses?
If you have both an LGV & PCV license you can attend either course & count it towards your total 35 hours. You must split the training if you intend to drive both LGV & PCV. The training you complete should be relevant to your job.
Duration of Training
Each session covers 7 hours of periodic training completed over 5 days to give you the full 35. You can complete the training in a block booking, or complete one day at a time.
How to book
It is advised that you contact the office prior to booking a Driver CPC course to ensure you are completing the relevant training. Please have a look at our open courses on our diary. If you cannot see a course listed, please call the office, as we offer courses that can count towards CPC that may not be listed.
Along with these we have available dates for Emergency First Aid, ADR and Manual Handling, from which you can claim Driver CPC hours.

We are a member of the RTITB Driver CPC Consortium, and have access to a full range of topics. These topics change regularly, so please check with one of our offices for the latest list.
