QNUK Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF)
Duration: 1 day
Course Overview
On successful completion of this course, delegates should be able to:
• Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider
• Be able to assess an incident
• Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty
• Be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking
• Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding
• Know how to provide first aid to a casualty who is in shock
• Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries
Who should attend
This qualification is aimed at those looking to undertake the role of an Emergency First Aider in the workplace, as outlined in the Health & Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health & Safety (First-Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982.
Assessment of Training
Candidates are assessed for this qualification using the following methods:
• Multiple-choice question paper
• Practical observation
Pre training requirements
This qualification is aimed at those over 16 who are able to undertake the responsibilities associated with being a workplace emergency first aider.
It is recommended that candidates have a minimum of Level 2 literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
Attendees will be required to demonstrate first aid procedures as they would in a real work environment. This includes providing CPR to a casualty who is on the floor, therefore be physically capable of doing so.
Candidates who successfully complete the course receive a QNUK Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work valid for 3 years. Delegates will need to attend the course every 3 years to ensure their certificate remains valid.

• Circulatory System / Blood Loss
• Internal Bleeding & Wounds
• Control of Bleeding, Bandaging and First Aid Kits
• Shock, Heart Attack & Angina
• Anaphylactic Shock
• Burns & Scalds
• Injuries; Eyes, Concussion, Fractures, Dislocations, Spinal Trauma, Sprains & Strains
• Effects of Heat
• Seizures / Epilepsy

Refresher Training
Delegates can refresh this certificate providing they have a current First Aid at Work certificate that has not expired by more than 28 days.

Training Location
We deliver the course at both of our offices, Barry & Baglan, Port Talbot. We are also licensed to deliver the training at customers’ sites & have travelled around the United Kingdom & Europe to deliver this training.
