Skills for the Workplace (S4W)
At BTS, we have a range of courses available through the S4W funding route, these courses are up to 50% off the cost of training, applied via Neath Port Talbot college.

The price you pay is set by the S4W funding team. To find out mroe about the cost, please contact a member of staff who will be happy to talk you through the options.
To be eligible for this funding, you either need to live in an SA postcode, work for a company registered in an SA postcode or be working on a job in an SA postcode.
To register, you first need to contact a member of the team at BTS who’ll make a referral and send you a link to register.
Before we can start any training, we will need to take a deposit from you in the event you cancel or fail to attend. More information on this will be provided at the time of your enquiry.
Personal Learning Account (PLA)
The PLA is fully funded training on a range of courses, the courses available include;
RTITB Industrial Counterbalance
RTITB Telehandler
RTITB Reach Truck
RTITB Slinger Signaller
RTITB Lorry Loader
To be eligible for a Personal Learning Account, individuals must
- Reside legally in Wales
- Be aged 19 years old or over
In addition, Individuals must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Employed (including self-employed) and earning a basic salary below the median income (£34,303)*, or
- Workers on zero hours contracts, or
- Agency staff, or
- Offenders on day release, or
- Full-time carers (paid or non-paid)
* For the Personal Learning Account confirmed interventions (Digital, Net-Zero and Tata) the salary cap does not apply.
Individuals are ineligible if they are:
- Under the age of 19, or
- attending school or college full-time as a pupil or student, or
- In full-time higher education, or
- In Medr funded Work Based Learning, or
- An ineligible overseas national, or
- In receipt of an Assembly Learning Grant or Education Maintenance Allowance, or
- Unemployed (i.e. does not have a contract of employment)
- If they have exceeded the PLA maximum funding value of £6,145.21 for this 2025/2026 PLA year.

React Funding
At BTS, we can also accept React funding.This is up to £1500.00 per person to use on courses of your choice, almost all courses we offer are available through the React scheme.
In the first instance, you need to contact Careers Wales to ensure you are eligible for the React funding programme, if you are, they will refer you back to your training provider to get quotes for training.
